Description : William Henry Price "The Morning at Santa Paula" titled verso palette knife painting of the Pasadena area, circa 1935.
Price painted out of a studio in Pasadena, CA and exhibited widely during the 1930's. Born in Irwin Pennsylvania 1864, studied as a youth while working at a mining company, settled in Laguna Beach by 1920, devoting his life to art. Studied with Edgar Payne, member of the California Art Club, Painters & Sculptors of Los Angeles, Academy of Western Painters. Many awards, work held in the Gardena High School Collection and the Laguna Beach Museum of Art. (Hughes' "Artists in California, Vl. 3") Died 1940.
